Inari literally means "rice load" and is the Japanese god of agriculture.
The main highlight of Kiyomizu-dera temple is the main temple building that is known for the Kiyomizu-no-butai,
meaning the stage of Kiyomizu.
The stage is 18 meters high from the bottom of the cliff and you can overlook the city of Kyoto.
The temple name literally means Hall with thirty three spaces between columns,
describing the architecture of the long main hall of the temple.
